Horizon of Expectations

Horizon of Expectations is stamp # 6851 in the Universal Electronic Vacuum suite of prints.

And here's Eduardo himself, looking unusually dapper, in-period, (checking proofs of Moonstrips Empire News):

A formula that can shatter into a million glass bullets

How's that for a title?

This is the second print in the Universal Electronic Vacuum suite.

As pioneered in the '64-'65 suite, As Is When, colour renditions were systematically varied within the print run.  Here, below is another version of  the same image illustrating this facet of the work.

Universal Electronic Vacuum, (to begin)

Best known for his sculpture, Eduardo Paolozzi was creating fantastic, complex 2D prints in the mid - late 60s.  Starting with my favourite series, Universal Electronic Vacuum, I'll post these prints progressively.  After UEV will come As is When and ZEEP.

Universal Electronic Vacuum was published in 1967.  It consists of 10 prints and a poster.  Screen printing was by Kelpra Studio.

Imagine how impressed we were then to have an artist referring to computers, (we wouldn’t get really usable personal ones until 20 years later) military technology and spaceflight, (the moon landings were still 3 years away).

First print from this series (#6850) is Memory Matrix.
